Google recently updated the homepage of Google Drive along with several other user interface changes. Now, Google Drive app on Android has received an updated document scanner. The update is mostly cosmetic and comes with a new interface along with a couple of new features.

9to5Google has reported that the new document scanner interface is rolling out with version 2.23.457.1 of Google Drive for Android.The update scanner gets the new user interface where users will now see a new dedicated FAB above the rectangular FAB for “New” that reads the “Scan” name. Now, the Drive app opens the camera viewfinder within the app instead of redirecting to the default camera app with the Google Drive logo at the top.
The controls have also been simplified here and get an “Auto capture” mode along with “Manual” mode. Capturing a photo opens up the “Preview” page which includes these features:

- Crop & Rotate: Automatic crop, No crop, Rotate
- Filter: None, Auto, Color, Grayscale
- Retake
- Delete
Other changes include a redesigned Home feed with a “Suggested” tab at the top. Activities option replaces Notifications and Starred replaces the Workspace tab. The Workspace tab has been moved to the navigation drawer and is available for enterprise accounts.
Meanwhile, Google has recently updated the Chrome Web Store with Material You theme and the changes bring the web store much closer to the Google Play Store. The entire web store now has rounded themes along with several new categories and a navigation plane to help users find extensions and themes better. Along with these, Chrome Web Store now also has a dedicated section of curated extensions and themes as per users’ preferences.
