Grant Burge Wines celebrates 30 years of its iconic drop by awarding Aussies who are ‘quiet achievers’

If you’ve got a quiet achiever in your life that needs to be recognised for their generosity, kindness and community spirit, Grant Burge Wines might just be the avenue to do so.

The label is celebrating 30 years of its iconic Pinot Noir Chardonnay, which you can pick up for $27 at BWS, and in doing so wants to give 30 Australians the chance to win big.

The competition, called “30 Leaving Their Mark” will recognise individuals who embody the spirit of Grant Burge’s history by showcasing their efforts towards positive change, with the objective to celebrate their outstanding contributions and inspire all Australians.

The campaign is endorsed by a distinguished panel of judges including Paralympian and 2022 Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott, Grant Burge Chief Winemaker Craig Stansborough and Guardian Labs Content and Strategy Director Justine O’Donnell.

Judge Dylan Alcott said it was especially important in these troubled times to recognise and celebrate those ordinary people that were making a difference and helping to change society for the better.

“Leaving your mark isn’t about celebrity, fame or how many followers you have on social media, it’s about making change for the better, to improve or enhance the lives of others in the spirit of generosity,” he told Best Picks.

“That’s why we want to acknowledge and celebrate the quiet achievers, those who are having a positive impact on their community or broader society.

Grant Burge Wines has always been about providing the opportunity for people to pause, reflect and gather together, and it’s in this environment that change happens, that ideas flourish.

“In my life and work, I have been fortunate enough to meet many people who are leaving their mark across society and by recognising and celebrating them, we can encourage others to support their endeavours, and together, we can make the world a better place.”

Grant Burge Wines is inviting Australians to participate in this initiative by nominating individuals under three key pillars: Community, Innovation, and Culture.

Within the pillar of Community, the initiative seeks to acknowledge individuals who stand out in their communities, promoting cohesion and diversity whilst moving Australia’s social fabric forward.

The Innovation category aims to recognise those who boldly challenge the status quo through experimentation and curiosity.

Lastly, in the Culture category, the initiative aims to identify Australians who are moving the dial from a cultural perspective, those making waves in the sports, art, music or fashion worlds.

“I am truly honoured and excited to be part of the esteemed judging panel for ‘30 Leaving Their Mark’. This initiative resonates deeply with me as it aligns with the core values of Grant Burge Wines — recognising and celebrating individuals who are making a meaningful impact in their communities. Being able to contribute to the acknowledgment of these unsung heroes and innovators is a privilege,” Grant Burge Chief Winemaker Craig Stansborough said.

“I look forward to uncovering and celebrating the remarkable stories of those who, like our wines, leave a lasting mark on the world. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of a campaign that celebrates generosity, kindness, and community spirit across Australia.”

’30 Leaving Their Mark’ is an open initiative for all Australian residents over the age of 25, with nominations open now until February 15, 2024.

Grant Burge Wines encourages Australians to nominate themselves or others by accessing the official website here.

The winning ’30 Leaving Their Mark’ will be announced at a special event in March 2024.
