Actor Gurmeet Choudhary has proved his mettle as an artist in projects like Ramayan, Geet: Hui Sabse Parayi, Punar Vivah, Khamoshiyan and others. Currently, he’s making waves with his role in Commander Karan Saxena, now streaming on Disney + Hotstar. He also revealed that following the promotion of his OTT debut, he will soon begin the rigorous training for his participation in the nationals.
Gurmeet Choudhary Opens Up About His Prep For National Sprinting Competition
In an exclusive interview with India.com, Gurmeet discussed the challenges of sprinting, saying, “Sprinting lasts only a few seconds- whether it’s 9 or 12 seconds for 100 meters-but those few seconds require a year of practice. It’s extremely tough and demands a lot of patience because you’re sprinting for such a brief period. Achieving it is quite challenging, and my coach played a significant role. My coach motivates me daily, as I have to wake up at 5 a.m. and travel to Bandra for training. Sprinting every day is very demanding, but it’s rewarding. When I complete my daily sprints, it feels like I’ve accomplished something significant in my life.”
Gurmeet’s dedication is undeniably inspiring. As a fitness enthusiast, the actor shared that he is extremely particular about working out and eating right. He also revealed the specific changes he made to his diet and daily routine to achieve that physique. The actor said, “Main kafi dafa bol chuka hun ki samosa khaaye huye 14 saal hogye hain, mithai pata nahi kitne mahino se nahi khayi, aur mujhe roz khane ka mann karta hai. Frankly, bikul bhi gym jane ka mann nahi karta hain, mujhe aisa lagta hai theek hai yaar, aaj nahi gym jaunga, aaj khaunga, aaj kuch meetha hojaye, aj kuch samosa hojaye. But, kuch pane keliye kuch khona parta hai, life main aapko kahi paunchna hain, toh aapko yeh saari cheezein chorni parti hain, roz mai apne apko motivate karta hun, roz main gym ya sprinting keliye paunch jata hun, roz main vahi boiled vegetables, ek hi khana roz itne saalo se khana, aur vahi khata hun. Jab main international travel kar raha hun, toh vahi khana tiffan main rahega, aur koi baju main acha khana kha raha hota hai toh mujhe lagta hai ki yaar, theek hai, kuch pane ke liye kuch khona padta hai.”
(I’ve mentioned several times that it’s been 14 years since I’ve eaten a samosa and I can’t remember the last time I had sweets. I crave them every day. Honestly, I don’t always feel like going to the gym; sometimes I think it’s okay to skip it for a day and indulge in something sweet or have a samosa. But to achieve something, you have to give up certain things. If you want to reach your goals in life, you need to make sacrifices. Every day, I motivate myself and make sure I get to the gym or do sprinting. I stick to eating boiled vegetables and the same food every day for years. Even when I’m travelling internationally, my tiffin contains the same food. Seeing others enjoying good food might make me think that giving up certain things is worth it for achieving my goals.)
