It is said that a person’s perspective for the year is determined by what they see first thing in the morning on Puthandu. As a result, Tamils usually get up early on Puthandu morning, take a bath, and then examine lucky objects like gold, silver, fruits, flowers, and a mirror as a sign of good fortune.
