KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – There was flash flooding at Dollywood Sunday afternoon that also shut down a portion of Veterans Boulevard, according to police and representatives with the park.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Sevier County at 5:39 p.m. It expired at 10:45 p.m.
After the warning was issued, viewers submitted videos of flooding in parts of Dollywood, including a shop that appeared to have some flooding.
According to the Pigeon Forge Police Department, the weather also shut down Veterans Boulevard for a time from McCarter Hollow to Forge Hideaway Road. Drivers were asked to use Parkway as an alternate route.
Veterans Boulevard reopened just after 7 p.m.

Sevier County Vice Mayor Bryan McCarter said there was significant flooding in the McCarter Hollow, Dollywood and Walker Trail areas of Sevier County, adding that many side roads are impassable.
Additionally, the Sevier County Emergency Management Agency opened the Sevier County Emergency Operations Center Level 2 to assist in the response.
The Sevier County EMA said the following roads are closed as of 11:30 p.m.:
- McCarter Hollow Road @ Seaton Springs Road (2313 Seaton Springs Road)
- 1259 McCarter Hollow Road – Collapsed Road (At Dollywood entrance, according to Pigeon Forge Police Department)
Officials added that those roads will remain closed through the night.
A Dollywood spokesperson sent WVLT News the following statement:
Dollywood also released a statement on social media, saying the park is scheduled to open at noon on Monday.
Additionally, the Pigeon Forge Police Department said a woman had to be rescued from her camper in the 3600 block of Bear Cove Way after a tree fell on it. She was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.
PFPD also said its officers assisted Sevier County with roads around Dollywood and helped guests get out of the park.
