Air India has undergone a makeover with a new logo and brand identity. The airline’s iconic mascot, the Maharaja, will remain but will have a different role. The new logo, called ‘The Vista’, is inspired by the gold window frame and represents limitless possibilities and progressiveness. Air India’s CEO, Campbell Wilson, stated that the new look reflects a bold, confident outlook for the future. The airline’s aircraft livery and design feature deep red, aubergine, and gold highlights, as well as a chakra-inspired pattern. The Maharaja mascot will continue to be a part of Air India’s journey but will have a reduced presence, only appearing in the airline’s premium classes and airport lounges. The new logo and design will be introduced starting from December 2023. Tata Group acquired Air India over a year and a half ago and has been implementing transformation efforts. The airline aims to launch a new website, mobile app, loyalty program, and an entirely new long-haul fleet by the end of 2026. The first phase of the transformation plan has concluded, focusing on addressing legacy issues, and the second phase is currently underway.
