Shah Rukh Khan has become one of the biggest stars in the country today after a long and successful career spanning over three decades. Even now, his ardent fans love his film ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ which is also one of his personal favorites. The film was released in 1994 and recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. It featured Suchitra Krishnamoorthi alongside Shah Rukh and in a recent interview, the actress recalled a scene where she had to slap him.
According to Suchitra, there was a scene where she had to slap SRK. However, it took numerous takes to get it right and she ended up bursting into tears, as mentioned in her conversation with Bollywood Hungama. She further shared that director Kundan Shah wanted a very realistic take but she found it difficult to actually slap someone. Shah Rukh handled the scene like a professional, but it was a challenging moment for her until Kundan finally got the shot he wanted.
The actress also revealed that Shah Rukh was newly married during the shooting of ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ and Gauri Khan, his wife, would often visit the sets. While shooting scenes with Suchitra, SRK would often be more attentive to Gauri, which made his expressions of love appear genuine. Suchitra confessed that Shah Rukh would often imagine Gauri while acting with her, adding authenticity to his character Sunil.
On the film’s anniversary, Shah Rukh expressed his nostalgia for Kundan Shah and stated that he misses him every day. In his post, he wrote, “At that stage… in that age… raw… uncontrolled… craft still undefined… surrounded by the best cast and crew in India and a director who I miss every day! Taught me that sometimes you lose the moment… but win everything else… I am sure somewhere, in some world, Sunil did too!!”
