Dr Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman, Hero MotoCorp went on to announce that the homegrown manufacturer plans to launch a ‘slew of new premium motorcycles’, meaning that the Mavrick 440 is only the first of many more new products to come.The Mavrick 440 is based on the same platform as the X440, but will undercut its cousin on the pricing front. For reference, the Harley-Davidson bike is priced from Rs 2.40 lakh to Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hero MotoCorp is currently in the works of upgrading its existing stores to cater to customers purchasing its existing premium products. The company has also introduced three ‘Hero Premia’ exclusive stories to retail premium line of products like Xpulse 200, Karizma XMR, Vida V1 electric scooter, Harley-Davidson X440, as well as the upcoming Mavrick 440. Hero plans to have 100 such stores up and running by June this year.
Leveraging its partnership with Harley-Davidson and US-based EV maker Zero Motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp is also planning to scale up its global business. As of now, Hero MotoCorp has a presence in 50 countries, and it plans to increase its foothold in its top 10 markets. With the Hero-Harley-Davidson partnership set to result in a range of premium ICE products, it will be interesting to see if Hero MotoCorp can be the first legacy 2W manufacturer in India to launch a mass-market electric motorcycle in the coming years.
