Ahead of the emotional storyline, series producer Lucy Addario has spilled on what fans are in store for.
“Tonight is a massive episode of Home and Away. I promise you won’t want to miss this one!” Addario tells 7NEWS.com.au.
“Cash and Eden’s magical surprise engagement party on the beach will see a big number of our Summer Bay favourites coming together to celebrate the joy.”
She also revealed that there will be an introduction of a new core cast member, Abigail, who will be played by actress Hailey Pinto.
“Her surprise arrival will ignite a huge storyline for the Fowler siblings,” the series producer teases.
“There’s a lot going on at this party … from every angle. And then to top it all off, tragedy will strike with the life of one of our most beloved characters on the line.
“This week’s episodes and leading into next Monday are simply unmissable. The community will rally in what will become a fight of a lifetime, and ultimately end in a death that will rock the Bay.”
Addario ended by sharing a warning, encouraging fans to have the tissue box close by.
“We have not seen a goodbye like this in years. All I can say is make sure your tissue box is close by — you will need it!” she said.
It comes days after the show began teasing the departure in promotions and on social media.
“Who has days left to live?” the caption for a teaser posted to the Home and Away Instagram account read on Wednesday.
The teaser shows Harper, played by Jessica Redmayne, Lynne McGranger’s character Irene, Felicity, played by Jacqui Purvis and Eden, Stephanie Panozzo’s character.
“One will not survive,” a banner reads before an ambulance is seen driving down a highway.
“The music’s blaring, the dance floor is pumping, and the drinks are flowing under the hot Summer Bay sun,” the official release reads.
“But this special celebration will soon be ruined by tragedy. Who won’t make it home?
“Harper, Irene, Felicity, Eden: for one of them, their time is up.
“You can’t afford to miss Home and Away’s unforgettable week and one massive episode that will have the nation in tears.”
