Two-Minute Drill: The Rolex 24 begins Saturday starting at 1:40 p.m.
Racing season is about to get started with the Rolex 24 on Saturday at 1:40 p.m. It begins the run-up to the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18.
Strap in for 24 hours of racing from Daytona International Speedway!
The Rolex 24 at Daytona returns this weekend for the 62nd annual marathon start to the IMSA calendar. From Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, 59 teams will try to keep their cars on the track and win the checkered flag (and of course a swanky Rolex watch).
Fans will also be watching for a glimpse of Brad Pitt, as an F1 movie starring the renowned actor has been filming around the track and the Daytona Beach area all week (though fans watching from home were delayed by a college basketball game.)
Last year, Helio Castroneves won his third consecutive Rolex 24 title with Meyer Shank Racing’s Acura team. Tom Blomqvist drove the final hour of the marathon for his second straight title, and either his or Acura’s winning streak will have to end.
