Sooraj Barjatya‘s 1994 blockbuster ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ clocks 30 years of release today. One of the highest grossers of its time, this family drama had earned Rs 128 crore at the worldwide box office. The film’s biggest highlight was the captivating romance of Prem and Nisha romance, essayed by Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.
Madhuri Dixit’s performance of Nisha in the film was not only iconic but also financially rewarding.According to reports, she was paid a whopping Rs 27,535,729 for her role. Speculations were rife that Madhuri was earning more than Salman Khan. In a throwback interaction with Anupam Kher on his talk show, Madhuri had reacted to the rumours about taking home a bigger share than Salman Khan in ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’. “Well, agar yeh baat chali hai toh chalne do (If this is what people are believing then let it be),” Madhuri had shared with a smile.

In a conversation with ETimes, Madhuri had once revealed the reaction of her kids watching her old movies. “We don’t watch my movies at home, I feel it is silly. But if the kids are some place else, like my son recently watched my song in ‘Pukaar’ and he said, ‘You dance very well’, that felt very cool. The dance moves in Kay Sera Sera were very different, it was very cool. Arin and Ryan don’t sit at home and watch my movies at all! For them, I am their mother first and then everything else. They don’t carry that baggage. But they did watch ‘The Fame Game’ and they really liked it,” the ‘dhak-dhak’ girl had revealed.
