Hyundai Exter Review: Can it Punch out its rivals? | TOI Auto
Under the hood, the Hyundai Exter gets a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to either a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. Additionally, there’s a CNG variant, which belts out 69 hp and 95.2 Nm of peak torque, while the petrol mill produces 83 hp and 114 Nm of torque.
The Hyundai Exter rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Citroen C3, and the segment leading Tata Punch. While the model has been able to attract customers and clock healthy sales numbers, it has, however, not affected its direct rival Punch’s sales.
Going by the sales data from the recent months, Punch has continued to be the segment leader in the micro SUV category and has been growing persistently. However, it is also true that Hyundai is posting good numbers following the arrival of the Exter, with the model contributing a fair bit as the company registered its highest-ever monthly sales in October in 2023.
