Iconic Yamaha RX100 reportedly coming back to India in new avatar

Yamaha is reportedly planning to relaunch its iconic RX100 but with a bigger engine.

As per reports, the new bike will have the RX nomenclature but the 100 might be missing from the name as it will have a bigger 225.9 cc engine. As per reports, the bike would reproduce an impressive 20.1 bhp power and a peak torque of 19.93 Nm.

The RX100 successor is expected to retain some design elements of its predecessor. As per reports, it might be priced between Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh.

Yamaha has however not confirmed anything about it yet.

This is nor the first time that such a report has surfaced.

In 2022 too, there were reports about the Yamaha RX100’s successor. Then Yamaha India President Ishin Chihana has stated that the RX100 will make reappearance. He had then said that the RX100 will keep its current moniker. There will be no other motorcycle to take its place. This is done on purpose since the firm intends to reintroduce this emblem. This bike, which was popular from 1980 until recently, was recognized for its speed. However, the company discontinued this bike a few years ago, and it is now being reintroduced.

Yamaha used to make the two-stroke motorcycle from 1985 to 1996. Thereafter it introduced various iterations of it till 2005.
