While the R3 is a fully-faired motorcycle, borrowing its design cues from larger capacity Yamaha models, the MT-03, on the other hand, is its naked sibling and offers a more upright riding position.

Both the R3 and MT-03 are powered by the same 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 42 hp and 29.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch.
The duo feature all-LED lighting, LCD instrument clusters and a few cosmetic changes. The motorcycles also share their suspension system as they sport USD front forks, and a mono-shock unit at rear. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes on both front and rear wheels with dual-channel ABS.
Both motorcycles get a 14-litre fuel tank, however, the R3 is slightly heavier than its naked sibling, tipping the weighing scale at 169 KGs. Upon launch, the R3 will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC 390. On the other hand, KTM Duke 390, and the newly-launched Apache RTR 310. The R3 and MT-03 can be expected to launch at a starting price of Rs 3 lakh, ex-showroom and might go up to Rs 3.50 lakh depending on the variants on offer.
