Samsung India reports that washing machines with larger drum sizes offer enhanced wash quality by accommodating more clothes per load, reducing the frequency of wash cycles. This efficiency translates to savings in both time and energy. The increased space in the drum allows for better movement of clothes, resulting in cleaner and less tangled laundry.

Industry data aligns with this trend, showing a 45% increase in sales of front-load washing machines with capacities of 9kg and above this year. In contrast, the sales of front-load washing machines with capacities of 7kg and below have declined by 26% during the same period.
A survey conducted by Samsung India highlights that some consumers ensure the laundry drum is fully utilized to optimize energy use, while others may run a second cycle with fewer clothes, leading to water wastage. The survey also reveals a preference among Indian households to wash a variety of items at home, including bed sheets, tablemats, and cushion covers.
