Indian National In Singapore: An Indian man fired from his job in Singapore decided to “avenge” the move. He resorted to an online method, deleting 180 virtual servers, which led the company to suffer a loss of $678,000 or Rs 5.6 crore.
The employee, identified as 39-year-old Kandula Nagaraju, has now been sentenced to two years.
‘Upset And Confused’ After Firing
Kandula Nagaraju, formerly employed by the Singaporean firm NCS, was reported to be “upset and confused” following his dismissal. A Singapore court has sentenced Nagaraju to a jail term of two years and six months after he was convicted of unauthorized access to company data and the deletion of 180 virtual servers.
Fired In October 2022
Kandula Nagaraju expressed his discontent after being dismissed from NCS in October 2022 due to unsatisfactory performance, with his employment concluding on November 16, 2022, as reported by Channel News Asia.
Nagaraju was part of a 20-person team in charge of overseeing the quality assurance (QA) computer systems at NCS, a company that provides information communication and technology services.
His Actions Caused Big Loss To The Firm
Although Kandula’s former team had access to new software, programs, and other virtual servers, there was no confidential information about the company. However, the servers and other data deleted by Kandula might have caused the company a loss of huge amounts as mentioned above.

Shortly after his dismissal, Kandula was bewildered and distressed, believing he had performed well. He also believed that he had made significant contributions to NCS throughout his tenure, as reported by Channel News Asia, citing court documents.
After his dismissal, Kandula, who was jobless in Singapore, returned to India. Subsequently, he utilized his laptop to gain unauthorized access to the system using administrator credentials. Between January 16 and January 17, 2023, he repeated this process six times to delete the company’s server data.
Complaint Registered With Singapore Police
Subsequently, he secured a new position in Singapore and made his way back to the nation. Despite this, he persisted in accessing the company’s system to erase vital data. Three months later, the NCS team launched an investigation into the incidents, and a formal complaint was filed with the Singapore Police Force.
