India’s most expensive electric scooter BMW CE 04 launched in India at Rs 14.9 lakh

BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW CE 04 electric scooter in the Indian market at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium scooter by BMW is the most expensive scooter as well as the electric two-wheeler in the Indian market. The bookings for the CE 04 began earlier this month and the deliveries are slated to begin from September 2024.

The BMW CE 04 was first showcased in India in December 2022 and BMW Motorrad is also the first premium two-wheeler brand to launch an electric offering in India.Powering the scooter is an 8.9 kWh battery pack paired with a liquid-cooled electric motor which puts out 42 bhp of power and 62 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0-50 kph in 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120 kph (claimed). The scooter has a claimed range of 130 kms.

The scooter gets two charging options – standard 2.3kW and the faster 6.9kW which is optional. It can be charged from 0-100 per cent in 4hr20min using the 2.3kW charger and 1hr40min with the faster 6.9kW option. The CE 04 is built on a steel double-loop frame with a single-bridge telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided swingarm with directly hinged suspension support at the rear. It gets 15-inch wheels on both ends and braking duties are taken care of by 265 mm discs.

In terms of design, the e-scooter gets an elongated, low design with a diagonally rising front end, a flat bench-type seat, sharp bodywork and twin-pod headlights at the front. In terms of features, the CE 04 gets all LED lighting – headlight, indicators, taillights, fully digital 10.25-inch instrument display which displays built-in navigation and connectivity, performance data, EV-specific details, three riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road), ABS, switchable traction control, ventilated storage compartment with a USB C charger and much more.
