The highly regarded influencer with 1.1 Million followers on Instagram is famous for her impeccable fashion picks, styling tips, and being an advocate of the mid-size community. , Rupali is on a journey to educate the audience about the difference between mid-size and plus-size body types and also give styling tips/hacks to the mid-size community.

Rupali Journey’s From Chemistry Professor To Content Creator

The Master in Chemistry Honours started her career as a chemistry professor in an organization in Pune. Rupali was a casual Instagram user who used to post pictures now and then on her private profile. Rupali’s friend was having a shoot for Brides of Asia and he invited Rupali to model for the same. With absolutely no experience in modeling, Rupali went ahead with the opportunity and the shoot got viral which in turn got Rupali around 5k followers with just one shoot. Soon Rupali made her account public and a lot of brands started approaching her for collaborations. For 2 years, Rupali was juggling between creating content and teaching chemistry. After COVID, her lectures started getting canceled, and that’s when Rupali started being more consistent with her content. Within 3 months, She went from 30k to 100k. In 2021, Rupali started earning double the amount of what she was earning from her job and that’s when she quit her chemistry professor job and took content creation full-time and the rest is history.

Rupali Hasija on competition and saturation in content creation

Talking about competition and saturation in content creation, Rupali says that doubts about the future always creep in but she has never compared her journey with anybody else. “Yes it is getting saturated but if you have substance and niche, it’s always going to shine through” She shares. Rupali also emphasizes on the importance of having a community of loyal followers rather than just having followers. “I have seen creators who are at 20k followers or 100k followers having a stronger community than someone who is sitting at 1 Million”. Rupali believes that creating a strong base of loyal audiences by interacting with them or adhering to their requests can always keep you at the top of the game.

Rupali Hasija On Shelf Life of Content Creation

Rupali Hasija shares that just like every other visual field, the career of a content creator can be short-lived, especially those persuading fashion and beauty-related content. However, she shares that this field can also give you fast money compared to other fields. “Would you want to make that kind of money in 2 years or take 20 years and work for it, so that explains it” ” she says “Like what many other creators are also doing, one can start their business and the success rate of that is high because content creators would already have a cliental base”.

Rupali Hasija On Dealing With Social Media Trolling

Rupali shares that she has faced a fair share of trolling and initially when one starts, people aren’t very welcoming and appreciative and there are a lot of comparisons “The comparison happens between creators as well, it’s not someone from the out of the industry”, She shares. Rupali says that more than the trolling, the comparison used to affect her but eventually she realised that things would happen to her, all at the right time.

Real VS Reel Life of Content Creators

Speaking about the stark difference between the real and reel life of influencers, Rupali shares that “Instagram has put a lot of pressure on people who are not in content creation to live a certain way”. She also says that not everything you see on social media is all true “Anyone who is listening to this right now, it’s not all real. Whatever you see on Instagram, don’t trust it blindly”.

Rupali’s journey from chemistry professor to content creator is an inspiration to many and would encourage a lot of people to work hard for their passion because eventually, life does give rewards to the ones who work for it.
