Today, the trend is that people are utilizing the cloud and experimenting with ChatGPT to write research papers, which is incredibly cool, right? Even kids are simplifying their homework assignments using this method. However, not every client can do this because AI enablement needs to be done on the client’s side. It is not possible to go to the cloud or have a roundtrip to the cloud.
There are various new effects emerging, such as real-time language translation in zoom calls, instant transcription, automation inferencing, relevance portrayal, generated content and gaming environments, and real-time creator environments through platforms like Adobe. These advancements are being offered by the client and are also integrated at the edge.
Roundtripping to the cloud is not feasible due to issues like latency, bandwidth, and cost structure. For instance, it is not practical to have inferencing at a local convenience store send data back and forth to the cloud. All AI processes will occur at the edge or on the client side.
