Amazon has introduced a new payment method called Pay By Palm, which allows customers to make cashless payments by waving their palms over an Amazon One device. This technology, known as palm recognition, can be used for payment, identification, loyalty memberships, and entry at over 500 Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh locations in the US. Amazon Prime members can even link their membership with Amazon One to apply savings and benefits to their purchases. The technology is already available at 200 locations across 20 US states, and Amazon plans to expand it to more businesses. The palm recognition system is secure as it uses both palm and vein structure to create unique palm signatures for each customer, which are securely stored in the AWS cloud. Amazon has assured that palm data will never be shared with third parties without a legally valid order. Overall, customers have been pleased with the convenience and experience provided by Amazon One.
