Apple has experimented with different design details for the new models, but the overall form factor and general design have remained consistent. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a design similar to that of the iPhone 15 Pro models, with curved edges and titanium frame.

Sources told MacRumors, the new models will have larger displays, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, up from 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches. The increase in size is expected to accommodate the new 5x tetra prism Telephoto camera, which will be available on both Pro iPhone models this year.

Apple initially tested four button configurations, but it seems to have settled on a layout similar to the one on the iPhone 15 Pro, having Action buttons and volume buttons on the left and power buttons on the right. However, there could be a new button on the ride side of the phone, the Capture button, sitting below the power button. The said Capture button will flush with the frame and will not protrude like the Action button.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will use the same Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) material as the iPhone 15 Pro. There won’t be any significant changes to the overall finish.
For testing purposes, Apple has used the existing colours from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, but they plan to add another colour option. Apple’s prototypes use a “Silver” colour, which is marketed as “White Titanium.”
