Isotta Introduces Sony a7R Mark V Housing Options

Isotta has announced its latest housing for Sony’s Alpha 7 series—the a7R Mark V. The a7R V maintains the same 61-megapixel sensor and 10fps burst shooting but features a brand-new “deep learning” AI focusing system powered by a new Bionz XR processor. The new model offers 8K/24p recording as well as 4K/60p, but both formats incur a 1.24x crop.

Boasting signature red anodized aluminum construction, Isotta’s housing comes as standard with integrated adjustable handles, dual O-ring seals on all buttons, and the company’s unique single-handed open/close. The housing is compatible with Isotta’s standard DSLR ports and can accommodate the bulkiest lenses.

There’s a built-in moisture detector, dual fiber-optic ports for manual strobe triggering, and three M16 and one M24 port for accessories such as monitors and vacuum valves. The larger-bore M24 allows for the use of HDMI 2.0 cables for connection to 4K external recorders.

Priced at $3,390, the housing is available from retailers such as Backscatter
