Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has been on a record breaking spree ever since its release last month. The film has clocked over 25 days at the box office and raked in a humongous total.
On Sunday, the film earned Rs 8.80 crore, taking its domestic total to a whopping Rs 604.25 crore, reports Sacnilk. This collection is a cumulative number of the film’s Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.At the worldwide box office, Jawan has raked in around Rs 1068.75 crore in 24 days. Recently, the makers had announced buy one get one free offer for the movie, which further added to the business of Jawan.
Director Atlee is elated with the success of Jawan and there is massive speculation about a sequel too. Reacting to the same, the filmmaker had told ETimes, “I have still not come out of Jawan. So, generally every film of mine has an open end. Right from Raja Rani to Bigil and Jawan. Every film has its own open ending. I have never ever thought, okay, I have to do two. But yeah, in Jawan, now everyone is asking about the sequel. Wherever I go, everyone is asking, when is Jawan 2 releasing? So, it’s good curiosity coming from the audience. Let me come out of Jawan first and then let me think if I am going to do the next one.”
Apart from SRK, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt are seen essaying special parts in this action entertainer. Post this, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in Rajkumar Hirani helmed Dunki. This film is scheduled to hit the screens on December 22 and will clash with Prabhas starrer Salaar. Dunki is touted to be an immigration drama and stars SRK in the lead role, with Taapsse Pannu and Vicky Kaushal essaying pivotal parts.
