Jill Biden Discovers “Inner Strength” Through Exercise, Including Spin Classes and Jogging

Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, emphasizes the importance of exercise in maintaining her inner strength. She begins her day at 5:45 a.m., dedicating time to exercise regularly. In addition to spin classes and biking near her Delaware beach home, she is also fond of jogging on the White House driveway.

Barre classes and utilizing a Peloton bike are other forms of exercise that Jill Biden incorporates into her routine. The morning hours provide her with an opportunity to focus on herself and find her inner strength, as she believes it is essential to be strong for others.

Jill Biden used to be a long-distance runner and completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 1998. However, due to security concerns, she now opts to jog around the White House driveway instead of the District of Columbia streets. Former president Bill Clinton also faced similar security concerns during his presidency and had a jogging track built around the south driveway.

When traveling in Washington or abroad, Jill Biden often attends SoulCycle classes. During her visit to London in May, she even took a class with Akshata Murty, the wife of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Sunak later mentioned this activity during his meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.

Exercise has always been an integral part of Jill Biden’s life. As a child, she enjoyed roller skating, and in college, she took up ice skating. She also found solace in swimming while pregnant with her daughter Ashley. Running became a way for her to calm down during arguments with Ashley, and she eventually became a marathon runner due to their frequent disagreements.

Outside of exercise, Jill Biden follows a diet that includes fish and vegetables. On days when she teaches her English and writing classes at Northern Virginia Community College, she brings her lunch from home.

The September issue of Women’s Health magazine, which features Jill Biden as the cover story, will be available on newsstands starting August 15th.
