John Abraham, who has established himself as a versatile actor and producer in Bollywood over the past two decades, feels that producers still don’t fully trust him. He recently revealed that he often has to persuade studio heads to back his films.
During his conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, John Abraham shared that even after producing films like ‘Vicky Donor’, and starring in movies like ‘Madras Cafe’ and ‘Batla House’, he still finds himself having to persuade studio heads to fund his projects. He mentioned that despite his track record, they often express concerns about the budget, indicating that they don’t have complete faith in his vision.
John Abraham revealed that studio heads often don’t respond to him, partly because he doesn’t use WhatsApp. He shared that when he sends an SMS, he rarely gets a reply, and even recounted an instance where he texted a studio head who promised to get back to him, but after 4.5 months, there was still no response. While he doesn’t take it personally, John feels that he deserves at least one reply. The actor expressed his desire to make a difference in Indian cinema, acknowledging that while he doesn’t consider himself a game changer, he wants the chance to try.
Meanwhile, on the work front, John will be next seen in ‘Vedaa‘ with Sharvari Wagh. The film will hit screens on August 15 this year.
