The Australian new vehicle market set a new record for July sales last month, with 96,589 units sold, representing a 14.7% increase compared to the same period last year. This performance was seen across all states and territories and reflects the improved supply and the resolution of order backlogs that had been causing frustrations for customers and dealers. July’s sales result builds upon the positive momentum of the first half of the year, which already saw the market achieve the best June result in five years and an all-time record for May. Year-to-date, the new vehicle market is up 9.0% compared to 2022, marking the strongest performance since 2018.
