Kajol is one of the finest actresses we have and despite completing 28 years in the industry, the actress hasn’t lost her charm or popularity at all. Most of her characters remain iconic and well-etched in the hearts of the audience. Moreover, Kajol is also known for making some really unique choices and enthralling the audience – be it ‘Dushman’ or ‘Gupt‘.The fact that she is the villain in ‘Gupt’ remains a talking point till date, however, in a recent interview, Kajol has defended her character Isha from ‘Gupt’.
She said in a chat with Film Companion that she is on Isha’s side and doesn’t blame her for being the killer. She further blamed Isha’s father (played by Paresh Rawal), for attacking Sheetal (Manisha Koirala) and killing so many people. Kajol said that Isha’s father should have put her in a straight jacket long ago and shouldn’t have supported her.
The actress also defended the decision of her character Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, who chose to marry Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) instead of Aman (Salman Khan). The actress said that maybe Anjali read too many Mills & Boons. She was too young and for most young girls these days, it’s hormonal. Anjali didn’t know what was good for her, said Kajol. In an earlier interview, Kajol had confessed that if she was in Anjali’s place and if she had to make a decision, she would have chosen Aman instead of Rahul.

That’s not all. Kajol laughed and added that while Anjali had a choice, her character Zooni in ‘Fanaa’ didn’t have a choice. Her character fell in love with Aamir who was a complete stranger and he later turned out to be a terrorist. She was so blind, and she had lesser choices. Nobody had really loved her. ‘Ek hi toh mila tha, how many boyfriends did she have in line anyway,’ laughed Kajol.
Even her character Simran from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ fell in love with a complete stranger, Raj on a trip. But Kajol blames the train for it. It was also the fault of the scenery and Switzerland which is why Simran got carried away. She laughed and further added, that ‘Simran also had a bad eyesight, she was wearing glasses, didn’t we all see?’
The actress recently made her OTT debut with ‘The Trial’.
