Kalki 2898 AD beats Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become fourth highest grossing film in India | Hindi Movie News

Nag Ashwin’s mythological sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone has been setting box office benchmarks since the time of its release. It is already the biggest hit of the year, and the highest grossing foreign film in North America, and it has now become the fourth highest grossing film in India, beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

The year 2023 belonged to Shah Rukh Khan, he gave three back to back hits in Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, with Jawan minting Rs 640.25 crore in India, and becoming the biggest hit of Hindi Cinema, and fourth highest grossing Indian film after RRR, KGF 2 and Baahubali 2- The Conclusion.
However, the time has come to rewrite the records, as Kalki has finally breached Jawan’s record by minting over Rs 640.25 crore. Kalki earned Rs 414.85 crore in Week 1, Rs 128.5 crore in Week 2, Rs 56.1 crore in Week 3, Rs 24.4 in Week 4, and Rs 12.1 in Week 5. In the sixth week, the film began to struggle, as on Friday it earned just Rs 65 lakh, Saturday’s collection was Rs 1.25 crore, and Sunday was Rs 1.80 crore. Finally, on Monday, the collection dropped to mere Rs 50 lakh, taking the total collection after 40 days to Rs 640.15 lakh, as per Sacnilk.
And as per early numbers coming in for Tuesday, (Day 41) the film has earned Rs 15 lakh from its morning and early afternoon shows, thus taking its overall collection to Rs 640.30 crore, and crossing Jawan’s record of Rs 640.25 crore, thus becoming the fourth highest grossing film of Indian Cinema.
The film crossed Rs 1100 crore mark across the globe a few days ago, the makers on this occasion, announced a special offer for the fans of the film, they have been selling tickets for only Rs 100 from 2nd August till 9th August.
