Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan is having a busy March as her back-to-back two films ‘Murder Mubarak’ and ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ are all set to release on digital platforms. Karan Johar took to his social media and posted an update on ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. He informed that the trailer of the film is all set to launch on March 04 along with a glimpse of Sara’s look in the film.
In the video, Karan honoured some of India’s forgotten heroes and their untold tales in the film. He introduces the audience to 22-year-old Usha, a courageous girl who stood out for her country during the 1942 Quit India Movement by utilizing an underground radio to bring the country together against the British Raj. Her inspiring story reminds the director of two important characters: PVC Captain Vikram Batra from ‘Shershaah’, who put fear in the hearts of his enemies and gave his life in the Kargil War; and Sehmat Syed from ‘Raazi’, who married into a Pakistani army family in order to spy on them. “Her words echoed through the airwaves, her dedication awakened the spirit of independence in every heart. Discover the story of this unsung hero in #AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime, Mar 21,” the video caption read.
Directed by Kannan Iyer, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is written by Iyer, along with Darab Farooqui. The film stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead along with Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Neil, and Anand Tiwari in pivotal roles and a special guest appearance by Emraan Hashmi. ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ is all set to debut on March 21.
