KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and brother Jason Kelce took their “New Heights” podcast to London this week and recapped meeting members of the British royal family at Taylor Swift’s Eras show on Friday.
“We met royalty, guys. There was royalty at the show. I got to meet Prince William, how ‘bout that?” Travis said.
Travis called him the “coolest motherf**ker” and Jason agreed, saying, “He was awesome.”
“They were absolutely a delight to meet,” Travis said. “I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hands, like, ‘Sup, dude.’ We wanted to be polite.”
Jason explained that they were not at an “official royal function,” therefore bowing wasn’t needed. However, the former Eagles center said he “felt emasculated” and put his “beer, like, 10 feet away.”
“I’ve never seen you give someone that much respect,” Travis joked.
Jason and Travis praised William and Princess Kate Middleton for encouraging their children to converse with adults. Jason called Charlotte “the most electric part” of their interaction.
“Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. She was so f**king adorable,” Jason said.
“I cannot express how… I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have three girls now — she had fire to her, she was asking questions.”
The podcast episode appeared to be recorded after the brothers attended Swift’s Friday night concert at Wembley, but before Travis performed as a backup dancer on stage during Swift’s show on Sunday.
