Kelly Clarkson credits recent weight loss to medication, but not Ozempic

Kelly Clarkson confirmed speculation that her recent weight loss is due to a medication — but it’s not Ozempic, as most people have assumed.

The “American Idol” alum, 42, got candid on Monday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as she and Whoopi Goldberg discussed their respective experiences with trimming down.

“Mine is a different [medication] than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too, because my bloodwork got so bad,” said Clarkson — who, at just under 5-foot 4 inches, noted she weighed about 203 pounds at her heaviest. “My doctor chased me for like two years, and I was like, no, I’m afraid of it. I already have thyroid problems. I was afraid. Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic, it’s not. It’s something else. ”

“But it’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar … my body doesn’t do it right,” said Clarkson.
