One of the risks of dengue is a drop in platelet count. this can lead to hospitalisation and may turn fatal if not treated on time. Here is how one must take all the necessary precautions and try to keep up with the platelet count naturally at home.
5 Ways to Improve Platelet Count
- Keep Yourself Hydrated: Staying well-hydrated is crucial during dengue fever. Drink plenty of water, herbal teas, and electrolyte-rich fluids to prevent dehydration.

Spinach and other leafy greens are high in vitamin K, important for platelet function. Additionally citrus fruits vitamin C, which aids in platelet production.
- Herbs and Spices to Enhance Platelets: Herbs and spices have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties that may help to fight the infection and also boost the blood platelet count. Turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, pepper, garlic are some of the best herbs and spices available right off the kitchen shelf that may help from dengue fever recovery.
- Manage Stress: Stress can have a negative impact on the immune system and platelet production. Practice stress-reducing techniques like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing.
