Krispy Kreme Giving Away Free Doughnuts Following Tech Outage

In case you haven’t heard, a global tech outage has caused pandemonium across the world. As a result of the outage, which was reportedly not due to a cyberattack, flights have been grounded, television broadcasts interrupted, banks sent into disarray, and more. Although some companies are beginning to pick up the pieces following the outage, people are STRESSED.

Thankfully, the good folks at Krispy Kreme don’t want us to remain on edge for too long. They’ve responded to today’s software outage with a “sweet-ware update” that involves free doughnuts for customers.

From 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. today, simply stop by your local Krispy Kreme to receive a free Original Glazed Doughnut (no purchase necessary).

“Sweet-ware Update Available! đź’» Does technology have you down today? Our windows are working great and so is our Hot Light! Come on in and help yourself to a FREE Original Glazed® Doughnut from 5-7pm to add some sweetness to this sour day,” read the caption to Krispy Kreme’s Instagram post.

And if you’re a rewards member, you can expect even more freebies from Krispy Kreme. All July, the coffee and doughnut shop is giving away a free surprise doughnut every Tuesday and a free iced coffee every Friday with any purchase.

The shop has also launched an entire line of Parisian-themed doughnuts this month (in case those summer in Paris plans fell through). The enticing collection includes Crème BrĂ»lĂ©e, Double Chocolate Éclair, and Raspberry & Vanilla Crème. Be sure to act fast because they’re only available for a limited-time!
