Lamborghini Lanzador concept EV unveiled: 1,340 hp Grand Tourer to launch in 2028

Lamborghini recently unveiled its latest concept EV, called the Lanzador at the 2023 Monterey Car Week. The Italian supercar manufacturer claims that the Lanzador EV will be a grand tourer and the production version could come out by 2028. The concept EV is the fourth model announced by Lamborghini under its Direzione Cor Tour strategy, geared towards electrification. The Lanzador promises to be a cutting-edge and futuristic EV with a 2+2 passenger layout and mind-boggling performance of over 1 megawatt or 1,340 hp. Here’s what we know so far.

In terms of design, the Lanzador concept EV looks like a crossover between the Urus SUV and the Huracan super sports. It is unmistakably a Lamborghini and the 2+2 seating layout signifies it as a grand tourer. The Lanzador in its current form gets all-wheel-drive with two electric motors powering both axles. Lamborghini says the system delivers a peak power of over one megawatt, which is around 1,340 horsepower. The driver can further adjust power delivery between the two motors to configure performance distribution as per preference. The Lanzador concept and production model would also feature active aerodynamic functions to maximise performance and regulate airflow at high-speeds with precision.

In addition to the AWD, the Lanzador concept also gets a steerable rear-axle and air suspension. The interiors of the concept EV also paint a next-generation picture, with a cockpit layout, additional storage spaces and ofcourse dual screens for both the driver and the front passenger. With the absence of a transmission, Lamborghini has been able to scoop out some extra storage in the middle of the cockpit in typical EV style.
