Ahead of the official debut, the image of the next-generation Fortuner has been leaked online. The design of the new Fortuner takes inspiration from the Tacoma pick-up truck which was recently revealed. The SUV gets a big extended grille with re-designed LED headlamps and a revised bumper with LED DRLs and fog lamps.
The silhouette of the SUV remains similar and on the side profile, you can notice newly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels. The design of the doors, A, B and C pillars with window sills remains the same as the outgoing model. The rear changes are not visible, the SUV is expected to get a newly designed tailgate, bumpers and sleek LED taillamps.

Other expected features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, single-pane electric sunroof, connected car tech, ventilated seats, auto headlamps, auto wipers, dual-zone climate control, leatherette seats, wireless phone charger and more.
Talking about the powertrain, the new Fortuner is expected to be powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 48V battery and a small electric motor generator. This technology works in tandem with the engine to optimise performance and efficiency. The new Fortuner will also get Toyota’s 4×4 system with a low transfer case.
The price for the new Fortuner is expected to start from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the SUV continues to compete with MG Gloster, Isuzu MU-X, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
