Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor submitted a proclamation declaring Swift the honorary mayor and renaming the city “Swiftie Clara” for July 28 and 29, while Swift is scheduled to be in town for her Eras Tour. The proclamation was approved at a City Council meeting last week.
Not wanting to be outdone, San Francisco moved to declare July 28 and 29 “Taylor Swift Weekend.”

The Eras Tour is Swift’s first tour since 2018’s Reputation Stadium Tour. In the five years since, Swift has released four new albums: 2019’s “Lover,” 2020’s twin releases “Folklore” and “Evermore,” and 2022’s “Midnights.” She’s also rereleased three of her earlier albums, “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version)” and “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” the latter of which came out earlier this month.
Both Santa Clara shows are expected to feature two openers: singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, daughter of director J.J. Abrams, and rock trio Haim.
