Lindsay Lohan Wore a Regina George-Coded Manicure to the ‘Mean Girls’ Premiere — See Photos

After the Golden Globes, it’s not unusual to experience a bit of a beauty news lull. Everyone’s still gabbing about amazing looks like Florence Pugh’s faux hawk and Ayo Edebiri’s bob — even the celebs themselves tend to post about their ensembles for a few days after the event, so it can feel like we’ve had our fill of fabulous red carpet looks for a while. But this is 2024! New year, no patience! The premiere of the new Mean Girls movie musical meant more major beauty moments, none more fetch than a surprise appearance by Lindsay Lohan.

The original Cady Heron arrived at the premiere at New York City’s AMC Lincoln Square on January 8 — wearing black, not pink, because it was a Monday — and creating a full-on commotion about how incredible she looked. The silver belt of her cutout gown pulled in the sparkling buckle of her clutch, which she held with a manicure that serves some serious Regina George vibes.

If you know the original Mean Girls like the back of your hand, then you know that the back of Regina’s hand includes a perfect French manicure (as opposed to Karen’s nail beds, which allegedly suck). The new (cool) mom looked to nail artist Elle Gerstein for a similar look with an updated subtle yet glamorous twist: a rounded tip and a sparkling detail.

“Surprise!! @lindsaylohan’s on the red carpet for the @meangirls movie premiere tonight in NYC, Iconic! What else would we choose for her nails but an iconic nail trend,” Gerstein wrote on Instagram. “The French manicure, using @apresnailofficial #gelcouleur in Vintage Carnation & Winter Aurora. Not leaving any details out, I outlined the tip in Golden Anniversary & New Years Wishes for sparkle.”
