The United States drew the Netherlands 1-1 in the group stage at the World Cup on Wednesday night, thanks in large part to a thrilling sequence from Lindsey Horan.

The American midfielder was fouled hard in the 59th minute and needed the training staff to come attend to her as she recovered. The hip check foul came from Horan’s club teammate, Danielle van de Donk. The two play for French juggernaut Olympique Lyonnais.

Broadcast cameras caught Horan appearing to call her aggressor a “f—ing b—h” before the two teams set up for an American corner kick. Once Horan got up, she got into it with van de Donk to the point where the match referee had to step in and pull the two players aside. The meeting didn’t do much good as the two players kept going back and forth at each other.

Horan got over it quickly as she received the cross in the middle of the box from Rose Lavelle and headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net to tie the game at 1.

The Americans threatened repeatedly over the final half hour, but that would be the final score. The U.S. and Dutch now both lead Group E with four points, and the group could come down to goal difference. The Americans are +3, two better than the Netherlands. The Netherlands has a date with Vietnam remaining while the U.S. faces Portugal late Monday night Pacific time.

Horan and van de Donk were seen embracing and having a conversation after the game.

The goal pulled the U.S. women back from the abyss. Prior to the goal, the United States were trailing for the first time in 18 consecutive World Cup games, as soccer researcher Paul Carr noted; they’ve ever lost only one World Cup group stage game.
