Made-in-India Honda Elevate launched in South Africa: How much it costs there |

Honda Cara India launched the Honda Elevate SUV in the Indian market in September 2023. Since then it’s been a success and now the company has launched the India-made Elevate in the South African market. The SUV gets different colour options, tweaked interiors and is offered with the same powertrain option.

The Elevate in South Africa is offered with two variants and a sole 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission.The engine puts out 119 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque. The price for the Fronx starts from R 369,900 (about Rs 16 lakh at current exchange rates).

As mentioned previously the Elevate is offered in two variants – Comfort and Elegance. Moving inside, Honda has made minimal changes to the cabin with black-coloured leatherette seats, steering wheel, and gear lever. In terms of features, the SUV has a smaller 8-inch infotainment system, six speakers, four power windows, automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, and six airbags. India-spec Elevate gets a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS.

The Honda Elevate launched in South Africa looks exactly the same as the one sold in India. In South Africa, the Honda Elevate can be had in six colour options – Lunar Silver, Meteoroid Grey, Radiant Red, Phoenix Orange, Platinum White, and Obsidian Blue. The former three are Metallic-based, and the latter three get a Pearl finish.

The Elevate in India is offered in four variants – SV, V, VX, ZX – and ten colours, namely Phoenix Orange Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Phoenix Orange Pearl with Crystal Black Pearl Roof, Platinum White Pearl with Crystal Black Pearl Roof, Radiant Red Metallic with Crystal Black Pearl Roof.
