“This is an unfortunate incident.Police are investigating it. The accused will be caught, and stringent action will be taken against them. Those who take the law into their own hands won’t be spared,” Shinde affirmed.
Additionally, Shinde disclosed that he had personally spoken with Salman Khan to convey government support and reassurance during this trying time.
In a video shared by ANI, he further stated that he had instructed the Mumbai Police Commissioner to assess the security of the Bollywood superstar and his entire family and enhance their protection.
The Chief Minister’s statement comes amidst criticism from fans, members of the Bollywood film fraternity, and opposition party members regarding the lapse in security provided to the actor.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey said, “Whether it is Salman Khan or any common man, no one is feeling safe in Mumbai and Maharashtra.”
Earlier today, police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police and an Encounter Specialist, were spotted arriving at Khan’s residence, which was surrounded by a heavy presence of law enforcement personnel and armed guards.
Despite the alarming nature of the incident, it was confirmed that Salman and his family were inside the house at the time of the shooting, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The police have initiated a case, and investigations are currently underway to apprehend the two individuals who fired the shots and fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Salman was provided with Y-Plus security since November 2022, in response to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Additionally, Khan has been granted authorization to carry a personal firearm and even invested in a new armored vehicle for heightened protection in the wake of repeated threats against him.
