Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, known for his influential contributions to Hindi cinema, has recently stated that he will stop directing films. The veteran filmmaker, who has over 50 films to his credit as a director, has played a crucial role in shaping Hindi cinema.
Mahesh Bhatt however, thinks that he is ‘outdated’. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Mahesh Bhatt stated that he believes his time in the director’s chair has come to an end.He expressed that this is a ‘new age, a new vibrant dawn’ and is also one of the most gratifying phase in his life, where he can be a mentor, rather than a creator.
Mahesh Bhatt also stated that nothing can be more gratifying than creating people, and Vikram (Bhatt) is a true protégé. The veteran stated that Vikram has provided him a space under the metaphorical Banayan tree where he sits down and for his fulfillment, gives people who come to him, the courage to look inward!
Mahesh Bhatt called himself an ‘extinct volcano’, and expressed that he no longer has the thirst to leave his footprints on the sands of time, which is paramount in the entertainment world. He further added that people like Vikram and Avika (Gor) have that insatiable thirst, but he is ‘outdated’ and ‘a has-been’.

THIS Actress Just Overtook Alia Bhatt & Kareena Kapoor As the Highest Paid!

On the work front, Mahesh Bhatt has recently delivered ‘Bloody Ishq’ featuring Avika Gor and Vardhan Puri. ETimes rated the film 2 out of 5 and the review reads, “The film’s execution is too clichéd and predictable, with no significant “wow” factor in the story or direction. The supposed horror elements fail to scare, and the love story between the leads seems far-fetched and overly emphasized, detracting from the horror aspect. Even the spirit and the haunted occurrences in the mansion fail to create genuine scares. In a nutshell, ‘Bloody Ishq’ is a romantic thriller with a touch of horror that fails to meet expectations in both genres.”
