Upon arrival at the base camp, the Thar SUV was welcomed with a pooja ceremony and adorned with garlands by devotees and priests. The Char Dham Yatra started on May 10, 2024, includes pilgrimage spots like Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. As per reports, authorities intend to deploy two similar SUVs to assist pilgrims encountering difficulties during the trek.
The SUV model used here is the top-of-the-line LX hard top version powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with 152 hp of power and 300 nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It’s also offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and both variants come with a 4×4 system and a manual-shift transfer case with a low ratio.

In terms of safety, it gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, seat belt reminder and more.
