Among the celebrities who walked the runway tonight at Vogue World: Paris was Maluma, who walked the runway during the 1930s section of the show, as part of its celebration of the relationship between fashion and sport.
It isn’t the first time that Maluma has made his way to the catwalk to show off his modeling skills. He made headlines in 2018 when he walked in the Dolce & Gabbana fall show, and six years after that event, he’s established himself as a star of Latin music—and of fashion, too. (He’s a recurring figure at the Met Gala and a regular guest in the front rows of several houses during fashion week.) “I love fashion,” Maluma told Vogue before the show. “It’s as much part of my DNA as music and soccer! So to be able to mix all three in one is a dream.”
Given Maluma’s love of fashion, his presence at Vogue World: Paris proudly representing Latin America while sporting a dinner jacket by Thom Browne wasn’t that surprising to fashion insiders. “It’s an honor for me to be walking in Vogue World representing my culture on such an important event,” Maluma continued. “Couldn’t have picked a more iconic way to close out Fashion Week. It’s amazing!” In addition to Maluma, Bad Bunny, Becky G, and Rauw Alejandro were among the other Latino guests who attended the show.
“Fashion has taught me to express myself as myself,” Maluma added. “I don’t follow trends I wear what feels right to me at the moment. And I love that you really can’t do wrong when it comes to fashion as long as you are yourself.”
Vogue World: Paris was the third edition of Vogue World. Since 2022, the idea of bringing together celebrities, supermodels, and prominent faces from other areas like sport and film, has circled the globe—starting with a catwalk on the streets of New York, followed by a dazzling theatrical evening in London, and now, in Paris, the historic center of fashion, a journey through a century of haute couture.
