A man has been charged after allegedly leaving a gel blaster on a Sydney train during peak hour.
Distressed passengers found the replica gun sitting on a train seat about 8.10am last Friday as the train stopped at Redfern Station, in the city’s iner south.
Passengers said a man left the train at Sydenham when a woman sitting opposite him noticed he had left a black item on the seat.

Shortly after, about 9am, the gel blaster was handed to security guards who called police to Redfern Station.
An investigation then led police to a home in Carlton about 3am on Wednesday, where a 43-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged.
Gel blasters are illegal weapons in most states and territories in Australia or require a permit to be used, except for Queensland, where owners do not require a licence.
In NSW, people cannot acquire permits for gel blasters or their ammunition.
NSW Police said on its website: “No genuine reason exists to possess or use a gel blaster in NSW.”
The man has been refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
