A man has suffered burns to his face and hands after a gas main ruptured and caught on fire on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The gas main on Darley Rd, Manly, burst into flames about 10.45am on Wednesday.
A man working nearby sustained minor burns to his hands and face as a result of the blaze, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Firefighters worked for several hours to cool down neighbouring utilities services.
But FRNSW said they did not work to extinguish the fire due to the risk of a “catastrophic” explosion.
Gas supplies have been shut off and residual gas has burnt out.
“Gas company technicians will now further assess and repair the damaged line,” FRNSW said.
Darley Rd remains closed.
