Man seriously injured in dog attack in Leppington, Sydney

A man has suffered serious injuries and two dogs have been euthanised following an attack in Sydney’s southwest.

Emergency services were called to George Rd, Leppington about 7.40am Monday after a man was attacked by two dogs that escaped from a nearby home.

“Council rangers attended the scene, where a man had been attacked by two dogs who had escaped from a private property,” a Camden Council spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

The man, believed to be about 50 years old, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition, NSW Police said.

Police confirmed two dogs were seized by council rangers, who will investigate the incident.

Inquiries are ongoing.

A council spokesperson confirmed the dogs have been euthanised, following a decision made by the owner.

“Council had not received any prior enquiries on the dogs,” they said.
