After winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Neeraj Chopra was invited as a guest on the dance reality show ‘Dance+6’. In the show, Shakti Mohan playfully asked Neeraj about his idea of a marriage proposal. To which Neeraj answered, “Meri life mein toh sabse zaruri javelin hai. Na achha khana banana aata hai, na main time de sakta hu.” (Which translates to, ‘the most important thing in my life right now is javelin. I can’t cook well, nor do I have time to give to his partner, Neeraj said on the show). On this, the show’s host Raghav Juyal jokingly told Neeraj that he had thrown his javelin “at the wrong place.”
The show’s judge then asks Neeraj Chopra about his kind of girl, to which the star athlete replies, “I am a player, so I want a player who is focused on work. Respect each other and family. I think this is the best.”
As Neeraj’s description of his dream girl matches Manu’s, their fans on social media have got another reason to link the two athletes.

For the unversed, Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024– one for women’s 10m pistol shooting, and another for 10m pistol shooting mixed doubles along with Sarabjot Singh.

Meanwhile, this year Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal for the men’s javelin throw.

Meanwhile, recently when Manu’s father Ram Kishan Bhaker was asked about the rumours of Manu and Neeraj’s potential marriage, he denied the speculations. “Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. We are not thinking about it right now. Manu’s mother considers Neeraj like her son,” Ram Kishan Bhaker told Dainik Bhaskar.
