Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso now safer with this safety feature as standard: Details

Maruti Suzuki has enhanced road safety for its popular models, the Alto K10 and S-Presso, with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as a standard feature. This safety technology will now be available across all variants of these two models. Despite this addition of ESC, the prices for the model range remain the same as before – starting from Rs 3.99 lakh, ex-showroom, for the Alto K10 and Rs 4.27 lakh, ex-showroom, for the S-Presso.As a result of this upgrade, now all Maruti Suzuki cars come equipped with ESC as a standard feature barring the Eeco.

ESC is a vehicle safety system that helps maintain control during sudden maneuvers or slippery road conditions. It works by detecting oversteer or understeer and applying the brakes to individual wheels as needed to prevent loss of control. This feature is particularly valuable in India, where road conditions can vary widely and accidents due to loss of control are a common concern.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso: Engine

Mechanically, the Alto K10 and S-Presso remain unchanged and feature the existing engine. Each model continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine, with a CNG option available. Transmission choices for the petrol variant include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT, while the CNG variant is offered exclusively with the manual transmission.
