What is Bharat NCAP
India’s first domestic car safety rating program, the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), is modeled on the Global NCAP. It evaluates vehicles based on three crucial aspects: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, and safety features. The program aims at enhancing the overall safety standards of cars produced and sold in India, offering consumers clear and trustworthy safety ratings. It is worth noting that this program is voluntary and the carmakers can nominate their cars for safety assessment if they wish to.
Last month, the BharatNCAP announced the results of Harrier and Safari, Tata Motors’ first model to be tested under the new safety assessment program. Both models received a 5-star rating.
