Sangha, who is accused of supplying the ketamine that allegedly led to Perry’s death last October, has long been fascinated by the world of organised crime, TMZ reported.Interestingly, she even allegedly maintained a website dedicated to Mafia history, inspired by iconic films such as ‘Scarface’ and ‘The Godfather’. On her site, she expressed a strong “love” for Mafia history, which she said began during her school years when she chose to research notorious American crime families for a project.
Her website, which features sections like ‘Mafia Mug Shots’, ‘Famous Mafia Faces’, ‘Cities of Mafia Families’, ‘Mafia History’, and ‘Favourite Mafia Movies’, connects back to an old University of California, Irvine email address. Sangha, a proud alumna of UC Irvine, detailed her interest in the Mafia through various posts.
According to the TMZ report, the Los Angeles Police Department and federal investigators suggest that Sangha’s criminal activities were likely influenced by her obsession with the mob.
In the ongoing investigations in connection with Perry’s death, she is being charged alongside Dr Salvador Plasencia with conspiracy to distribute ketamine. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has also charged her with maintaining a drug-involved premises
, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and multiple counts of ketamine distribution.
If convicted on all charges, Sangha faces the possibility of a life sentence. Several others implicated in the case, including Erik Fleming, Dr. Mark Chavez, and Perry’s former assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, have already accepted plea deals.
